O CAOP – Adaptação climátiva para pessoas idosas que vivem em áreas urbanas vulneráveis. Desenvolvimento de uma Metodologia Climaticamente Responsiva e Localmente Participada – é um projeto que pretende desenvolver soluções de mitigação e inversão dos efeitos adversos das alterações climáticas através do estudo dos efeitos destes na saúde, qualidade de vida e condição socioeconómica das pessoas idosas que vivem em áreas urbanas vulneráveis, usando os resultados desse estudo para desenvolveruma metodologia de planeamento/desenho urbano climaticamente responsivo e localmente participado.

COHES.io pretende criar um ambiente inter-regional de inovação aberta para a saúde digital, interligando os ecossistemas regionais do Norte de Portugal, Malopolskie da Polónia e Ática da Grécia. Pretendemos aumentar a conectividade destas regiões através da introdução de ferramentas comuns para colaboração e networking; melhorar a eficiência da inovação nos cuidados de saúde, identificando possibilidades de intervenções conjuntas (por exemplo, a criação de um living lab virtual inter-regional), e apoiar a transferência de boas práticas em regimes de apoio à inovação. Através de um processo de cocriação bottom-up, envolvendo uma combinação diversificada de partes interessadas na inovação, serão identificadas ações conjuntas, e a sua implementação será garantida pelo envolvimento das autoridades públicas (parceiros associados do COHES.io), que serão responsáveis pelas estratégias de inovação e programas de financiamento relevantes.

Deep INVENTHEI: INnoVation and ENTrepreneurship in HEIs

O DeepINVENTHEI pretende criar uma rede internacional de vales de inovação regionais que contribuam para atrair e reter talentos na Europa, através da formação de talentos de tecnologia profunda e do apoio a spin-offs e start-ups académicas de tecnologia profunda. Irá implementar atividades relacionadas com:

• aprendizagem e orientação de estudantes e funcionários com cursos de formação em aprendizagem baseada em desafios e investigação orientada para a inovação, em formação em empreendedorismo e em tecnologia profunda (para estudantes não STEM), e na criação de hubs estudantis de inovação e empreendedorismo;

• aprendizagem baseada na investigação com bancos de ensaio de investigação abertos a estudantes e à indústria, e organização de laboratórios de cocriação envolvendo estudantes, funcionários e startups para a criação de projetos conjuntos.

• colaboração e estágios, com a busca de novos acordos de colaboração e com a promoção da mobilidade intersetorial e internacional.

Estas atividades aproveitarão as plataformas existentes para criar e nutrir uma comunidade em torno dos parceiros DEEPINVENTHNEI.

EDU-FIT: INCLUSIVE SOCIAL EDUCATION FIT FOR HEALTHY LIFE-STYLE: PREVENTING OBESITY IN YOUNG ADULTS

O EDU-FIT é um projeto internacional e interdisciplinar de pesquisa focada em sensibilizar jovens estudantes, entre outras populações, sobre a importância de manter um estilo de vida saudável, e por conseguinte, prevenir o excesso de peso e a obesidade. O projeto irá produzir um manual multilinguístico online focado na problemática da obesidade juvenil e implementar um currículo inovador focado em estilos de vida ativos e prevenção do excesso de peso em ciclos de estudo pré-existentes.

Objetivos do projeto

• Analisar melhores práticas de conteúdos focados na prevenção de obesidade desenvolvidos por outras instituições
• Preparação de um guia multilingual online com recomendações práticas sobre a prevenção da obesidade
• Preparação de guidelines para uma preparação mais saudável dos alimentos direcionadas a cantinas
• Desenvolvimento de capacidades de comunicação apropriada no foro da obesidade
• Preparação de material didático para sensibilização em relação á temática do excesso de peso e estilos de vida saudáveis
• Implementação destas iniciativas

Um dos métodos de avaliação de elegibilidade dos serviços da TB-ITeCS em particular, será o Technology Readiness Level (TRL) ou Nível de Prontidão Tecnológica, em tradução livre. Este método for criado pela NASA na década de 1970 para avaliar a maturidade técnica de uma determinada tecnologia.

Ainda no que se refere à TB-ITeCS, os serviços prestados terão obrigatoriamente de resultar na evolução de pelo menos 1 TRL dos pilotos, e alcançar o TRL Nível 5 como mínimo de Saída

The University of Porto will be responsible for delivering educational and community-building assets. The AGES Project aims to capacitate older European citizens with skills, strategies and tools to help them improve their quality of life and to have a successful, active, happy and healthy ageing process. ICTskills4All had the objective to test and explore innovative and efficient pedagogical practices for the design and development of educational courses and contents directed at the acquirement of digital competencies for the population over 55 years old who possessed limited skills in this subject.

ICTskills4All differs from senior universities with its collaborative approach which entails an understanding of the needs, knowledge and limitations of its target audience for the acquirement of digital skills. Besides this approach, the promotion of digital literacy among the senior population emerges as an important component that benefits future educational programs (in senior universities, lifelong learning, etc.) that target this audience. Following this, the project has the objective of improving and extending the quantity and quality of formative materials that target this age group. In this sense, ICTskills4All became a contribution to the improvement of quality of life and autonomy of older citizens, positively impacting the educational field of adult and senior education in a digital environment and keeping up with current trends in education and in an information society.

The IN-4–AHA (Innovation Network for Active and Healthy Ageing) project focuses on the engagements of existing and needed mechanisms to empower the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP on AHA) ecosystem and the cross-border scale-up of tested and ready-to-use applications towards healthcare. Besides coordinating and supporting the further scale-up of mechanisms provided by EIP on AHA and its stakeholders towards a more efficient uptake of innovation cycle in active and healthy ageing, the IN-4-AHA project also engages with and brings together new supply and demand actors at a regional and local level.

The main result will be a scaling-up model of innovation in the field of active and healthy ageing, validated by relevant institutions, and complemented by a clear implementation strategy, a set of impact evaluation tools, and a long-term investment strategy.

Integrated Care in frail older adults with non malignant chronic pain

“Integrated Care in frail older adults with non-malignant chronic pain” is a project funded by Pfizer that looks to improve non-oncological chronic pain care in older adults, through the adoption of a patient-centered and coordinated approach of multidisciplinary care. The specific focus of the project is on adults with frailty, since this condition has been associated with high resource consumption, and it is often considered an indicator of complexity and it demands a multi-professional approach. The intervention developed in this project will be implemented in two Pain Centers in Italy and Portugal.

Sharing Childhood 2 (SACHI 2) was a European intergenerational research project developed in schools with the aim of promoting positive ageing and breaking barriers between generations, in particular those between children between the ages of 9 to 12 years old and adults over 55. The project was based on four main objectives:

1. Increase educational diversity and the use of inclusive methodologies, in particular intergenerational methodologies.

2. Improve and/or facilitate the acquirement of digital, linguistic and collaborative skills among older adults.

3. Improve the offer of high-quality opportunities adapted to the individual needs of older adults, particularly those who need it the most.

4. Disseminate the results through intellectual materials.

SHAPES – Smart and Healthy Ageing through People Engaging in Supportive Systems

SHAPES is an Innovation Action implemented on a large scale to integrate technological, digital, organizational, educational, and social solutions, that contribute to facilitating active and healthy ageing for longer and the maintenance of high living standards. Technological solutions are intended to connect the living contexts of ageing, within the local community, the family (and home), with health and care services contributing to a decrease in costs, hospitalizations and institutionalizations. Towards this, SHAPES will develop a large-scale Pilot Campaign, involving more than 2000 elderly adults from 10 European countries, 15 reference institutions, 6 of which are part of EIP on AHA, and hundreds of stakeholders from all over Europe, with the goal of validating solutions that increase the health, well-being, and autonomy of older adults, while strengthening the sustainability of the health and care systems.

SmashMedicine is an online learning platform that combines peer-to-peer learning strategies with gamification and artificial intelligence in order to improve students’ learning experience. In this platform, students can create and answer multiple-choice questions, review content created by their peers and get involved with real-life patients and their stories. Quality is assured by a similar method to that applied to scientific publications, as all questions are reviewed by peers as well as experts or teaching medical doctors.

For healthcare professionals it can be difficult to deal with issues such as non-adherence or polymedication in the elderly. In order to help solving this issues, the project Skills4Adherence was developed in collaboration between 3 partners, and it resulted in the creation of an educational platform about Therapeutic Adherence and Polimedication for the elderly. This evidence based program was composed by 3 pillars: provide basic knowledge and practical abilities to improve therapeutic adherence, prevent polymedication, and methods to increase acceptance of interventions to increase adherence.

Os sistemas de saúde da Europa são insustentáveis. Se nenhuma solução for encontrada, espera-se que o custo dos cuidados de saúde duplique até 2050. O futuro dos cuidados de saúde depende dos cuidados de saúde baseados em valor (VBHC).
No entanto, a falta de sensibilização e conhecimento complica a implementação do VBHC. Para garantir adoção bem-sucedida globalmente, são urgentemente necessários programas robustos para ensinar conceitos de VBHC aos profissionais de saúde.
VBHCPioneer é um módulo formativo impactante de alto valor para capacitar, atualizar e requalificar profissionais de saúde na área de transformação VBHC. Especialistas em VBHC, representantes de pacientes e especialistas académicos de todo o mundo colaborarão para criar um módulo multimédia envolvente que será integrado na plataforma EIT Health Academy. Assim, ajudaremos a consciencializar e educar os atuais e futuros profissionais.
